When to use this template

• Use the program description page template to give background information or an overview about a program, and provide links to its related services
• Don’t use this template to initiate a service, use the Service initiation page layout instead

How to use this template

Use the program description page template to provide program information for a transactional service or to present program descriptions outlined in Reports on Plans and Priorities as part of an institution’s Program Alignment Architecture.

1: Program name

Provides the name of the program

• Presentation

  • must be a unique H1
  • must be the first component on the page

2: Institutional byline

Provides a link to the institution, organization or partnering/collaborative arrangement entity responsible for the content of the page

• Content

  • must provide a link to a profile for the institution responsible for the content
• Presentation

  • use the Institutional byline pattern

3: Program overview

Provides a summarized description of the program

• Content

  • a maximum of 100 words is allowed
  • written for a grade 6-8 reading level
• Presentation

  • appears below the program name

4: Detailed program information

Provides more detailed information about the program

• Content

  • provides pertinent details about the program
  • information is limited to a maximum of 400 words
  • written for a grade 6-8 reading level
• Presentation

  • appears below the program overview

5: Services

Links to services and information related to the program

• Content

  • a maximum of 5 links is recommended
• Presentation

  • heading is labelled “Services”
